What everyone wants these days: Portland home search for master on the main.
Homes with a master on the main may not suit every family, but for many, it’s the bee’s knees. Older homeowners look at a long staircase to the second level of a home as a possible issue in their later years. And of course, stairs are always a challenge for homeowners (or their guests) with limited mobility.
Younger homeowners often want the flexibility that a master on the main gives them for housing parents at some point in the future. And then there are some of us who simply like the separation (and privacy) that comes from separating bedrooms into two distinct areas (such as teenagers on the upper level and parents on the main level).
Given sufficient bedrooms on the second level, even families with small children (and the inherent need to stay close to them at night) can benefit from this home style. Simply dedicate the master on the main as a guest room until the kids reach the age when they kick you downstairs.
