Ever wonder what it’s like to live high in the sky overlooking one of the most iconic lakes in Portland Metro? Say hello to Lake Oswego’s Lakeview-Summit neighborhood.
Lakeview-Summit is bordered to the north and west by the Lake Grove neighborhood and to the south and east by private, resident-owned Oswego Lake.
True to its name, this cloistered neighborhood sits high above the banks of Oswego Lake, offering stunning views of the crystal blue water below.
Oswego Lake is managed by the Lake Oswego Corporation (LOC) and governed by rules and regulations designed to maintain the safety of users and residents, along with protection of surrounding personal property.
Approximately 3000 homes around the lake have deeded lake access, which enables those homeowners to join one of 20 lakefront easements for boating and recreational use of Oswego Lake.
Each easement is governed by its own individual set of by-laws and has its own volunteer board of directors. Facilities and rate structures vary from easement to easement.
To check if a specific Lake Oswego address is eligible for lake access, go to the Lookup Eligibility page and enter the home’s street number.
As you can see on the easement map above, many Lakeview-Summit residences are eligible for lake access through the Village on the Lake easement (#14).
Homes in Lakeview-Summit cover the gamut of high-end home styles, including Craftsman, Colonial, Mediterranean, Mission, Country French, Tudor, Contemporary, Traditional, Hybrid, and Custom styles.
Most Lakeview-Summit homes are larger two stories with generously sized lots. Many have lake views, lake access, or both.
One of the best ways to experience a neighborhood is to walk it. That’s what we do nearly every day across Portland Metro neighborhoods. And in the process, we develop Google Walking Maps to make it easy for you to follow.
Lakeview-Summit Interactive Walk Map
To see and toggle the classifications (Parking, Main Route, Extended Route, Parks ), in the upper right of the heading bar, click the square View Larger Map icon.
When you click an icon on the map, you get a Google fly-out that tells you more about that selection (Parking, Main Route, Route Extensions, Parks).
And we keep this map up-to-date as we continue to walk and refine the route. Pretty cool, huh?
